Todd’s Second Weekend Story

This weekend Todd got to stay home. On saturday, Todd stayed home with Otis locked in the bathroom. They go in the bathroom when we are not home because our alarm that we set in the house does not detect things in the bathroom. Anyways, on Sunday Todd got to roam around the house, until I had an orchestra concert, and he had to go back to the bathroom. These past few weekends have not been very exciting, I promise that Todd will have more excitement in the future.

Todd’s Weekly Weekend Story

I will now be posting a story every week (hopefully) about Todd’s weekend. This weekend, Todd went to his kennel with Otis*. They went to the kennel because my family went to Portland for my dad and sister’s crew regatta, but that isn’t important right now. Anyways, their kennel is huge. And I don’t mean 1 acre huge, I mean HUGE huge. 🙂 It has a barn that they sleep in and a very large yard. Whenever we pull into the kennel’s driveway, Otis starts whimpering in happiness. They absolutely LOVE it there. It was only one night, but they still went there because they couldn’t stay in a hotel.

Todd’s Brother

Todd has one brother, Otis. Otis is a mutt, but he is mostly a Catahoula Leopard Dog. He has a very square face and different colored eyes. his eyes are like the galaxy from space. Otis is about nine or ten years old and was a rescue from a prison program. In this specific prison program, the inmates train the dogs that the staff in charge of the program rescue when they find stray dogs. You then get to go meet the dog that you set the appointment with and decide if you want to adopt them. If so, then you go to a ceremony, where the inmates show off the dog’s new skills and talk about their experience, and pick up the dog. It is a really great program, and everyone should consider rescuing a stray dog.

Baths

One thing Todd completely hates; BATHS!!!

First, Todd runs as far away from the person getting the bath reading. Usually the spot is under my parent’s bed. Once we catch him, we make sure the bath is an okay temperature, make sure it is not filled up to much, and put him in. After he is in the sink, he gets washed off with baby shampoo (to protect his precious eyes) and water. Then, we would lift him out of the sink and dry him off. Todd then runs around the house rolling around everywhere and shaking his back while running.19F646CC-5BA8-47DC-B952-7CDBEFBDD8CE

Todd’s Cousins!

This next post is about Todd’s cousins! Todd’s cousins are Murphy and Lila. Murphy is a stray and kind of looks like a mix of a Coton de Tulear, Maltese, Bichon Frise, and a West Highland White Terrier. So, basically, he is a small, white, fluffy dog. Lila is a chihuahua mix. Murphy and Lila live in L.A., but came down for the first time to visit Todd and Todd’s brother Otis. The four cousins had a fabulous time! On the other side of the family, Todd has a recently new cousin named Bella. Todd and Otis have yet to meet Bella. We are all very excited to meet her! Thanks for reading this post!

Meet Todd!

This is Todd, the English Toy Spaniel.

Licking is his transition mode so if he was in, say, hyper mode and starts to calm down, then he would transition to sleeping mode through licking mode. At least that is the way I think about it.
